Curriculum
We follow the Creative Curriculum program, which is forward-thinking, comprehensive, research-proven, and respects a teacher’s critical role and creativity. Our curriculum is designed to meet each child’s developmental needs while fostering a love of learning. Children participate in enrichment themes throughout the year to bring practical knowledge and hands-on experiences into the classroom.
Play
The play area is considered an extension of the classroom at Soans Christian Academy. We encourage safe, supervised play that promotes physical development, social skills, and creativity. Our outdoor spaces provide opportunities for nature walks, picnics, and kinesthetic learning activities that boost the body as well as the mind. Through play, children develop problem-solving skills, learn cooperation, and build lasting friendships.
Safety
The safety and security of your child is our top priority. Our center is committed to maintaining the highest safety standards through:
- Mandatory sign-in and sign-out procedures for all children
- Identification requirements for alternate caregivers
- Visitor registration system
- On-site security system with monitored access
- Thoroughly prescreened and background-checked personnel
- Regular review and updates of health and safety policies
We maintain compliance with all Pennsylvania Office of Child Development & Early Education regulations and hold a KEYSTONE STARS Level 4 rating, the highest quality designation available.
Meals and Snacks
Meal time at Soans Christian Academy is more than just developing healthy eating habits—it’s an opportunity to teach good manners, healthy nutrition, and respectful interaction with peers. We provide nutritious meals and snacks that meet USDA guidelines for early childhood nutrition. Our staff collaborates with parents to accommodate dietary needs, allergies, and cultural preferences. We participate in the state-sponsored lunch program to ensure all children have access to healthy, balanced meals.
Field Trips
School trips are great and memorable occasions at Soans Christian Academy. Our carefully planned field trips are designed to provide children with immersive, fun, and educational experiences outside the classroom. These excursions reinforce classroom learning through real-world exploration and hands-on activities. From visits to local parks and libraries to cultural sites and educational facilities, field trips create lasting memories while supporting curriculum goals. Parents are always welcome to join us on these adventures!
